HanaByte has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) as a Trusted Cloud Consultant (TCC)! We are excited as a company to have this announced earlier this year, and we would love to take the time to explain who the CSA is, what it means for HanaByte as a company, and how it matters to those who are seeking a trusted advisor in cloud security. This exciting partnership positions HanaByte at the forefront of cloud security innovation, reinforcing our dedication to delivering best-in-class consulting services.

Who is the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA)?

The Cloud Security Alliance is a global organization dedicated to promoting best practices in cloud security and fostering trust in cloud environments. Since its inception, the CSA has become the leading authority in shaping the future of cloud security, providing organizations with guidance, research, education, and certification programs to ensure they maintain secure cloud environments.

As a member-driven body, the CSA collaborates with global organizations and leading experts to develop frameworks like the Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) and Security, Trust, Assurance, and Risk (STAR) program. These resources are key for organizations aiming to enhance their cloud security posture and remain compliant with industry regulations.

What It Means for HanaByte to be a Trusted Cloud Consultant

According to CSA’s website: “The TCC program allows cybersecurity consulting organizations to enhance their cloud relevance by enabling them with a broad understanding of CSA’s knowledge and best practices. Trusted Cloud Consultants are recognized sources that are able to provide cloud security assessment and remediation services to enterprise organizations that need to improve their cloud security postures.”

As a Trusted Cloud Consultant, HanaByte will bring its deep expertise and thought leadership to the CSA’s initiatives, helping to influence the development of industry standards, security practices, and cutting-edge cloud security frameworks. Our role will focus on providing consulting expertise to organizations that need strategic guidance to build, secure, and optimize their cloud security programs and their cloud infrastructure.

As best put by Jim Reavis, the CEO and co-founder of CSA, “HanaByte’s achievement in being named a CSA Trusted Cloud Consultant is a testament to their position as a leading cloud security consultancy and their commitment to helping clients reach their goals faster. We look forward to working with them and furthering our mutual objective of a more secure cloud.”

Why This Matters

In today’s world, as businesses constantly work on their digital transformation journey, cloud security is more critical than ever. Businesses are increasingly relying on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to store, process, and manage their data.

However, this growth in cloud adoption has also led to an increase in security threats – which companies are increasingly noticing, according to Gartner. Cloud security spend is forecasted to grow by 24%, making it the highest growing segment in the cybersecurity landscape. By 2027, it is expected that over 70% of companies will be using the cloud to accelerate their innovative activities. The time to invest in a great trusted advisor has never been more crucial to ensure organizations stay vigilant in cloud security.

HanaByte’s membership in the CSA as a Trusted Cloud Consultant underscores our company mission: “To be your best friend in cybersecurity through a people-first, white-glove approach. With deep engineering and advisory expertise, we excel in accelerating achieving compliance and security goals in the cloud.”

Compliant Operating System (OS)

A compliant operating system is any operating system that meets specific standards established by an entity. For example, if an organization wanted to create a CIS-compliant operating system, it would need to meet the standards set forth by the Center for Information Security, whose sole purpose is to “create confidence” in the connected world. A virtual machine image (VMI or image for short) is a bootable copy of the operating system of a virtual machine in the cloud…
